Beginning in June, things may start to look and sound a bit different around Johnson Center at Falcons Landing. CNAs and nurses will be wearing small headsets over one ear. The halls will be quieter. The end of shift report will be reduced to a few minutes…and the staff will be able to spend more time with the residents. That’s because Falcons Landing is installing AccuNurse, an innovative system for reporting care throughout the day and for instant communication.
With AccuNurse, CNAs have instant access to resident care plans—anytime they need it. Plus, they document care throughout the day by simply speaking into their headsets. There’s no paperwork and no computers for CNAs—just speaking and listening. For Nurses, AccuNurse dramatically reduces paperwork by automatically creating text reports based on the CNAs’ speech, giving supervisors up-to-date information about residents.
Another great feature of AccuNurse is the paging function, which allows staff to reach each other instantly and quietly. Staff can request help from any location without ever leaving the resident alone. AccuNurse even allows staff to contact all users to share important information, such as what to do during an emergency situation—with no overhead pages, no calling down the halls, and no noise to upset the residents.
“AccuNurse will empower our staff to improve accuracy, efficiency, and ultimately, the quality of care we provide our residents,” says Sandra Kuhn, Director of Nursing
. “AccuNurse provides a wonderful way for us make Falcons Landing a better place to work and live.”
